Mehdi Lacoste is a young photographer and art director born in the South of France. After spending some years living and working in the US, Mehdi moved to London and his professional career as a photographer started. Even though a life in London brings a lot of inspiration, the photographer is always in search of new places. Mehdi usually goes on road trips with his friends and discovers new countries. Like that, he gets new ideas and a chance to show them through his artistic and commercial photography.

The Creativity Behind Mehdi Lacoste’s Fashion Photography

Challenges for art photographers whose work is in touch with commercial or fashion photography increase every day. Sometimes it’s very difficult to establish and maintain a specific style in both areas. But, for creative and curious Mehdi this was not a problem.

Mehdi Lacoste captures ordinary people on the street of Tokyo but he also works with professional models in studios. He usually likes to catch movements and gestures of the people. His sensitivity for detail shows in his attractive portraits. The models are surrounded by a natural landscape or architectural scenery that the photographer uses to focus on the particular subject.

Commercial Works

The photographer has international clients so his work is realizing between London, Paris, New York, and LA. He works for brands such as Absolut Vodka, Adidas Originals, Cutler & Gross, Lacoste, Nike, but he also makes editorials for Vogue, 7th Man, Esquire, and others. His latest work is with Represent, an emerging Manchester brand founded by brothers George and Mike Heaton, reveals an authentic British spirit. Some of his editorials, e. g. The mood, from 2016, shows the photographer’s energy and virtuosity that collaborates with a model in creating unique photos. The photographer catches interesting parts and plays with light and shadows composing vivid images that tell us the original story.
